Tooling Development

In Solink's all projects, Tooling development is potentially the most important aspect of the project phase. It can make or destroy a good design. For this reason we go to great lengths to specify and cost our tooling according to customer budgets, and to maximize the product yields and net return on investments.

On most tooling projects DFM studies are invaluable to fine-tune last minute product designs. Our tool design specifications usually align with SPI tooling classification codes, such as classes 101-105. We undertake FEA whenever necessary, from simple flow analysis to in-depth structural and warp analysis.

These are essentially the parameters that determine the tool / mould design. We oversee the design process from start to finish and will only release for manufacture if our customer and ourselves approve the tool design. In many situations, we only need to build small scale tooling for prototype and large scale tooling for mass production for different scenarios.

Whatever tooling categories that we needed, We have the high precision CNC machines and EDM machines with experienced engineers and known-how together in house for successfully delivered more than 30 tooling projects over one year averagely. Tool trials are executed in a predefined sequence depending on product requirements.

These trials are usually attended by at least one of our staff project members with assigned tooling engineers on full dimensional attention with performance reports which are issued from the trial run. Final acceptance trials and protocols involving PPAPs, SPC, IQ OQ PQ are performed in house on our injection moulding machines or on-site of our customer's designated locations or factories with full reports are issued. Tool delivery from international subcontractors is usually by sea freight but airfreight is also an option.

Strategic Sourcing Management

In Solink, Strategic supply management aims to improve quality and service while reducing the total cost of purchased materials, production, and realted services.  In other words, strategic supply management is the process of making our competitiveness and marketing strength with suppliers to achieve corporate goals as a result of the assessments in order to streamline cost and productivity to achieve our customer's requirements.
In the strategic supply process,  we identify clear expectations for right material, parts, and processes.
In this step, analysis of expenses for raw materials, finished products as well as all items to be purchased such as office supplies, maintenance, security, and distribution is performed.
Then, a detailed comparison of current and prospective suppliers is made and the suppliers providing the lowest total cost while meeting all other expectations are selected.
In the last stage, a structure for continuous improvement is developed by designing processes that ensure regular monitoring of the performance of suppliers.
Our approach, beginning with sourcing and procurement goes far beyond negotiating price with suppliers.  Our methodology, which has proven successful time and time again, is used on strategic supply projects worldwide, helps our clients reduce total purchasing expenses and ensures high-quality service from suppliers within market pace.
